a good place, dried by the wind of my wings.

      this one is from the point of view of the eagle in the creek story of ‘how earth was made’ — the eagle throws a big ball of red soil onto the earth (which is mostly ocean at this point) so the creatures that are coming will have a place to live. the land he creates is too wet, so he flies over the earth to dry it with his wings.

      and black gum is a tea the cherokee use for healing.
